Creating and Modifying Configurations

You can use the Modify Configurations and the Configuration Table dialog boxes to create, modify, and delete configurations in parts and assemblies.

To create a new configuration:

  1. In the dialog box, at the bottom of the Configuration Name column, click the cell.
  2. Enter a name and press Enter.
    You can right-click any configuration and click the following options:
    • Rename Configuration
    • Delete Configuration
    • Add Derived Configuration
    • Switch to Configuration. Makes the selected configuration the active one.
    If you enabled the Design with SOLIDWORKS app, the options have the following names:
    • Rename Physical Product
    • Delete Physical Product
    • Add Representation
    • Switch to Physical Product. Makes the selected configuration the active one.
