Adding Area Hatch or Solid Fill

In drawings, you can add, edit, and delete area hatch patterns or solid fills within boundaries that do not receive automatic hatching.

To add an area hatch or solid fill:

  1. In a drawing document, select a model face, a segment of a closed sketch profile, or a region bounded by a combination of model edges and sketch entities. You can make multiple selections.

  2. Click Area Hatch/Fill (Annotation toolbar), or click Insert > Annotations > Area Hatch/Fill.
    You can click Area Hatch/Fill before or after step 1.
  3. Specify options in the Area Hatch/Fill PropertyManager.
  4. Click .
    The area hatch or solid fill appears in the selected area.



    You can change the shape and size of a sketch profile and the area updates to fill the modified profile.

Editing an Area Hatch or Solid Fill

  1. Click the area hatch or fill in the graphics area.
  2. Set options in the Area Hatch/Fill PropertyManager and click PM_OK.gif.

Deleting an Area Hatch or Solid Fill

In the graphics area, do one of the following:
  • Right-click the area hatch or fill and click Delete.
  • Click the area hatch or fill and press Delete.
Sketched profiles are not deleted when the area hatch or fill is deleted.
