Accessing Custom and Configuration Properties

When you enable the Design with SOLIDWORKS app and update a model for compatibility with the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, the Configuration Properties display instead of the Custom and Configuration Specific tabs.

To access configuration properties:

  1. Click File > Properties.
  2. In the dialog box, click the Custom tab for properties that apply to the entire document, or the Configuration Specific tab for properties that vary from one configuration to another.
    For models updated to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, add properties on the Configuration Properties tab.
  3. Select a configuration.
    On the Configuration Specific tab, select a configuration under Apply to.
    The Configuration Properties tab displays the defined configurations in the first section and lets you add properties in the second section.
    If you define a property on the Configuration Properties tab, a configuration icon appears in the row. From the flyout menu of the configuration icon, select an option:
    • This Configuration
    • All Configurations
    • Specify Configurations
  4. Add, edit, or delete properties.
  5. Click OK.
