Setting Insertion Points

When you make a block, you have the option to specify an insertion point.

When inserting a block into a document, insertion points:
  • Add a manipulator by which you can drag the block.
  • Act as the rotation and scaling point.
  • Enable you to add relations between the manipulator and the sketch entity.

To set an insertion point:

  1. Create a sketch.
  2. Click Make Block Tool_Make_Block_Block.gif (Blocks toolbar) or Tools > Blocks > Make.
  3. Click Insertion point to display the insertion point manipulator block_Base_Point.gif, and drag the manipulator to the sketch entity and position required.

    With sketch snaps, you can position the insertion point manipulator to any inferenced sketch entity.
