3D PDF Security Options

You can specify options for securing the data in the 3D PDF files that you publish.

To specify security options:

  1. Click Publish to 3D PDF (MBD toolbar).
  2. In the Template Selection dialog box, select a template and click OK.
  3. Near the top of the PropertyManager, click Security Settings .
  4. Specify options in the dialog box, and then click OK.

Restrictions

Select one or more options to restrict access to or distribution of data in the 3D PDF files.

Disable printing of the 3D PDF  
Disable editing of the 3D PDF  
Disable copying of the 3D PDF  

Password Protection

Lost or forgotten passwords cannot be recovered from the document.
Passwords are case sensitive.

Specify none, one, or both passwords. If you specify both passwords, you can open the file with either one, but only the master password lets you change the restrictions.

Password to open 3D PDF Requires a password to open the 3D PDF file. Select to require a password, and then define and confirm it.
Master Password for 3D PDF Requires a password to change the restrictions, but does not prevent users from opening the 3D PDF file. Select to require a master password, and then define and confirm it.
