Bill of Materials Multiple Configurations
You can specify how to list component configurations in a BOM. When multiple configurations of the same component are used in an assembly, there are some additional considerations.
- In the Item No. column, you can list the configurations as separate entries with individual item numbers, or you can group all the configurations as a single entry with one item number.
- In the Part NUMBER column, you can display a
user-specified name, the configuration name, or the document name for
configurations listed as separate entries with individual item numbers. When
configurations are listed as a single entry with one item number, the Part NUMBER column displays user-specified names
only.
If different components use the same configuration name and:
- In the Configuration Properties PropertyManager, under Bill of Materials Options, Part number displayed when used in a bill of materials is set to User Specified Name.
- In the Bill of Materials PropertyManager, under Part Configuration Grouping, Display configurations with the same name as one item is selected.
Then all configurations appear as a single entry with one item number.
In the part document, you need to perform certain steps to achieve the required results:
ITEM NO. | PART NUMBER | Procedure |
---|---|---|
Configurations listed as separate entries with individual item numbers | User-specified names, Configuration names, or Document name |
|
All configurations as a single entry with one item number | User-specified names |
