Merging Sheet Metal Bodies by Adding a Base Flange The Merge results option of the Base Flange/Tab command lets you merge bodies with coplanar faces. To merge sheet metal bodies by adding a base flange: in a multibody sheet metal part, move the bodies to be merged to the same plane. For example, click Move/Copy Bodies (Features toolbar) and add a Coincident mate between the faces to be merged. Create a sketch on the plane, overlapping the faces to be merged. Click Base Flange/Tab (Sheet Metal toolbar) or Insert > Sheet Metal > Base Flange. Select the sketch. In the PropertyManager, under Sheet Metal Parameters, click Merge result. Click .
