Marking Up Shared Files on 3DDrive

Recipients of shared SOLIDWORKS files on 3DDrive can mark them up to provide feedback.

To mark up shared files on 3DDrive:

  1. External users receive an email notifying them about the shared file. Click the link in the email to open the shared file in 3DPlay.
    Recipients need to log in with or create a 3DEXPERIENCE ID.
  2. From the action bar at the bottom of the graphics area, on the Tools tab, use the Annotation tools to mark up the file.

  3. After you complete the markups, in the action bar, on the View tab, click Share as Comment.

    The Comments pane opens with a thumbnail of the marked up image.
  4. Enter comments for the file owner, then click Send .
    The file owner receives a 3DEXPERIENCE notification about the marked up file.
  5. Click the notification.
    The file opens in 3DDrive. You can read the comments from the reviewer and click the thumbnail image to view the marked up file in 3DPlay. You can then modify the file based on this information.
