You can add a text block that references a model custom property to a template. When publishing the 3D PDF document, the template user selects a custom property that appears in the final 3D PDF document.
To insert a custom property when publishing:

In the SOLIDWORKS 3D PDF Template Editor, click Text .
- Click to place the text block on the page.
- In the PropertyManager, click Custom Property Field .
A Custom Property Placeholder appears on the template.
- In Field name, type a name.
- In Instructions, type the instructions that appear in the Custom Property Text dialog box when you publish the 3D PDF document.
- In Custom property, select the property.
The SOLIDWORKS software will try to match the text you enter here to a custom property name at publish time. If there is a match, the software will complete the field.
- Select the Font Size, Font Family, and Text Color.
- Optionally, drag the text block to a location and resize it using the handles.
- Click .
