Creating a New Multibody Template

You can create new multibody templates for use with the Costing tool.

1. In a multibody part, click Costing (Tools toolbar or the Evaluate tab on the CommandManager) or Tools > SOLIDWORKS Applications > Costing.
2. In the Costing Task Pane, under Costing Templates, click Launch Template Editor.
3. In the Costing Template Editor, click New .
4. In the New Costing Template dialog box, click Main template for multibody parts , then click OK.
5. Enter data on the General, Custom, Weld Bead, and Fillet Bead screens as necessary.
6. Click Save .
7. In the Save As dialog box, for File name, type a template name and click Save.
8. Close the Costing Template Editor.
