Inserting a Section View with Offset
To insert a section view with offset, first insert the cutting line, and then add the offset.
To insert the cutting line:
- In a drawing view, click Section View (Drawing toolbar) or .
- In the Section View PropertyManager, click Section.
- In Cutting Line, clear Auto-start section view.
- Select a cutting line, move the cutting line to the location and click.Depending on the type of cutting line, you may need to perform several steps. See Inserting a Section View for more information.
- After you place the cutting line in the drawing view, the Section View pop-up appears.
Use the Section View pop-up to add offsets to the section view.
Arc Offset
To insert an arc offset:
- On the Section View pop-up, click .
- Move the pointer to the location of the first point of the arc and click.This point must be on the cutting line.
- Move the pointer to the location of the second point of the arc and click.
- Click to close the Section View pop-up.
- Drag the preview to a location and click to place the section view.
Single Offset
To insert a single offset:
- On the Section View pop-up, click .
- Move the pointer to the location and click to select the first point of the offset.
- Move the pointer to the location and click to select the second point of the offset.
- Click to close the Section View pop-up.
- Drag the preview to the location and click to place the section view.
Notched Offset
To insert a notched offset:
- On the Section View pop-up, click .
- Move the pointer to the location and click to select the first point of the notch.This point must be on the cutting line.
- Move the pointer to the location and click to select the width of the notch.This point must be on the cutting line.
- Move the pointer to the location and click to select the depth of the notch. The Section View pop-up appears.At this point, you could add additional offsets to the view.
- Click to close the Section View pop-up.
- Drag the preview to the location and click to place the section view.
