To display this PropertyManager:

In a part with two separate open profile sketches, click Lofted Bend Tool_sheet_metal_Lofted_Bend.gif (Sheet Metal toolbar).

Sheet Metal Parameters From Material

Use material sheet metal parameters Uses sheet metal parameters attached to the selected material.

Manufacturing Method

Bent Creates real physical bends, rather than formed geometry and approximated bend lines in a flat pattern.
Bent lofted bends form a realistic transition between two profiles to facilitate instructions for press brake manufacturing. Arcs are approximated by faceted segments.
Formed Creates formed geometry where you can specify the bend lines.

Profiles

  Profile Displays the sketches to create the lofted bend.
Move Up and Move Down Adjusts the order of the sketch profiles.

Faceting Options

Bent manufacturing method only.

Chord Tolerance Sets the maximum distance between the arc and the linear segment.
Number of Bends Sets how many bends are applied to each transition.
Segment Length Specifies the maximum length of the linear segment.
Segment Angle Specifies the maximum angle between two adjacent linear segments.

Facet Value

Bent manufacturing method only.

Facet Value Specifies the number of faces in the bend.
Refer to endpoint Specifies whether the created bends refer to a sharp corner in the profile or whether the sharp corner is replaced with adjacent bends to form an approximated arc in the corner.

Sheet Metal Gauges

Bent manufacturing method only.

  Use gauge table Lets you select a gauge table as the base of the sheet metal feature.

The sheet metal parameters (material thickness, bend radius, and bend calculation method) use the values stored in the gauge table unless you override them.
Select Table Lets you select or browse to a gauge table.

Sheet Metal Parameters

Bent manufacturing method only.

Thickness Specifies the sheet metal thickness.
  Reverse direction Thickens the feature in the opposite direction.
  Symmetric Adds an equal amount of material to both sides of the sketch.
Bend Radius  

Bend Allowance

Bent manufacturing method only.

Override default parameters Lets you change the bend allowance from the original sheet metal feature.
Bend Allowance Type Specifies the bend allowance type and a value for the bend allowance.

Auto Relief

Bent manufacturing method only.

Auto Relief Type Specifies the relief type.

If you selected Rectangular or Obround, do one of the following:

  • Select Use relief ratio and specify a value for Ratio.
  • Clear Use relief ratio and specify a value for Relief Width and Relief Depth .

Thickness

Formed manufacturing method only.

  Thickness Specifies the sheet metal thickness.
Reverse Direction Changes the direction in which the sheet thickness is applied.

Bend Line Control

Formed manufacturing method only.

Number of bend lines Specify a value for Setting to control coarseness of the flat pattern bend lines.
Maximum deviation Specifies the number of bend lines.
Decreasing the value of Maximum deviation increases the number of bend lines.
