Configuration-Mapping Rule Definition Dialog Box

You can define rules for mapping parts and assemblies to a physical product or a representation.

To open the Configuration Mapping Rule Definition dialog box:
  1. Tools > Options > System Options > 3DEXPERIENCE Integration.
  2. Click 3DEXPERIENCE Integration Rules Editor.
  3. In 3DEXPERIENCE Integration Rules Editor, if there are no rules defined, click Add to add a sub-type rule. Close the Sub-Type Rule Description after creating the rule.
  4. Select a rule.
  5. In 3DEXPERIENCE Integration Rules Editor, under Configuration Mapping Rules, click Multiple physical product.

Configuration Mapping Rule Definition

Configuration Mapping Rule Description Describes the configuration mapping rule.
If the following condition is met Specifies conditions for the rule.

Click Add to add a condition.

When you have multiple conditions, you can select All or Any.

Select an input:

Configuration name

Specifies an operator and a configuration name.

Configuration Property

Specifies a property name, an Evaluated Value, an operator, and a value.

Configuration BOM option

Specifies a BOM part numbering option:

  • Is Document Name
  • Is Configuration Name
  • Is User Specified

Is active configuration

Options are Yes and No.

Is first configuration

Options are Yes and No.

The second list defines options for Configuration name, Configuration Property, and Configuration BOM options.

Operators for Configuration name and Configuration Property:
  • contains
  • does not contain
  • is
  • is not
  • starts with
  • ends with

Use Add and Delete to add and remove rows.

Map the configuration to the 3DEXPERIENCE object type Maps the configurations to a Physical Product or a Representation.

When you select Representation, the following options display:

  • configuration named
    You must enter a configuration name for this option. And you must select either active configuration or first configuration as a secondary configuration to use.
  • active configuration
  • first configuration
