Example: Trim Surface - Surface Split Options
In the Trim Surface PropertyManager, you can set Surface Split Options to change how the trim tool edges determine the trim boundaries.
In this example, Split All is cleared in Surface Split Options. The blue surface is the Trim Tool.
Natural selected. Boundaries extend tangent from the trim tool endpoints. | Linear selected. Boundaries extend from the trim tool endpoints to the nearest edge. |
The results change when you select Split All:
Natural selected. Boundaries extend tangent from the trim tool endpoints and to the surrounding edges. | Linear selected. Boundaries extend from the trim tool endpoints to the surrounding edges. |
Surface Split Options have no effect if the trim tool entirely crosses the trimmed surface or if the trim tool forms a closed loop.
Trim tool fully crosses surface | Trim tool defines a closed loop |
