Orientation of Axes in 3DCloudByMe
SOLIDWORKS uses the Y-axis as the default up orientation for views. 3DCloudByMe uses the Z-axis as the default up orientation for views.
When you
publish
the
model,
its orientation in the viewport determines the X-axis in 3DCloudByMe.
When you publish a model to 3DCloudByMe if the scene floor is:
- Defined, the normal to the scene floor becomes the Z-axis in 3DCloudByMe.
- Undefined, the Y-axis in SOLIDWORKS becomes the Z-axis in 3DCloudByMe.
Recommendations:
- Define the scene floor to control the orientation in 3DCloudByMe.
- In the SOLIDWORKS viewport, orient the model so that the normal to scene floor is in the up direction.
- Rotate the model in SOLIDWORKS about the scene floor and orient it so normal to the screen becomes the X-axis in 3DCloudByMe.
