Attaching Dimension Extension Lines

You can attach dimension extension lines to vertices or sketch entities as follows:
  • Move dimension extension line endpoints to other vertices or sketch entities in drawings by single-clicking, moving the mouse to the target location, and clicking again.
  • Use the quick snap options available when you select and then right-click a dimension extension line endpoint.
You cannot attach feature dimensions using either method.

Attaching Dimension Extension Lines with Two Single-clicks

Move dimension extension line endpoints to other vertices or sketch entities in drawings by single-clicking, moving the mouse to the target location, and clicking again.

To move a dimension extension line using two single-clicks:

  1. Click a dimension extension line endpoint and release the mouse.
  2. Move the mouse to a new location and click again.

Using Snap Options to Move Dimension Extension Lines

Use the quick snap options available when you select and then right-click a dimension extension line endpoint to move extension lines to other vertices or sketch entities.

To move a dimension extension line using snap options:

  1. Select the dimension.
  2. Move the pointer to the dimension extension line endpoint.
  3. When the pointer changes to , select the dimension extension line endpoint.
  4. Right-click the endpoint and select Quick Snaps and a snap option:
    • Point Snap
    • Center Point Snap
    • Midpoint Snap
    • Quadrant Snap
    • Intersection Snap
    • Tangent Snap
  5. Select an entity to which to snap.
