Example: Tangent Influence (%) Option

BndSrf_TanInfluence_No.gif
  • Dir1 and Dir2 curves influence: Global
  • All curves set to Tangent Type: Curvature to Face
  • Tangent influence (%) = 0

The flow of the boundary surface is curvature continuous, but you might want to inflate the surface more to minimize areas of rapidly changing curvature. Think of the surface as a balloon that you need to inflate more and the zebra stripes as topography lines.

This issue exists for very rounded shapes.

BndSrf_TanInfluence_Yes.gif
  • Dir1 and Dir2 curves influence: Global
  • All curves set to Tangent Type: Curvature to Face
  • Tangent influence (%) = 100

As you increase the Tangent influence (%), the zebra stripe pattern changes as the surface inflates.
