- Creating a Limited-Access Costing Template
You can create a limited-access Costing template to share with other users. You can select limited-access templates in the Costing Task Pane, but you cannot view or edit them in the Costing Template Editor application.
- Creating a New Costing Template
Costing templates contain the procedures you or your manufacturing supplier use to manufacture parts. The template can include customized information such as material cost and thicknesses, cost of manufacturing operations, and manufacturing setup costs.

You can use Import and Export tools for Weld Bead, Fillet Bead, and Purchased Cost in a multibody template, as well as for all materials in the machining and sheet metal templates.

You can create limited-access templates for multibody parts and assemblies that limit the visibility of certain elements.
- Rules-based Costing
You can customize machining and sheet metal templates to more accurately reflect the manufacturing process for creating parts. The templates include customizable rules for handling special geometry cases such as large holes or stock body selection.
- Sorting Tables in the Costing Template Editor
You can sort tables alphabetically in the Costing Template Editor by clicking the column headers once.
- Using Copy As and Modify in Costing Templates
You can use the Copy As and Modify tools for some Operations tabs in sheet metal and machining templates, for copying and reusing multiple rows of information.
